We’re pinching pennies, so it’s going to be a lot of couponing for me. I’ve been using coupons diligently for quite a while, and I’ve really been able to improve our menus and save some money over purchasing a lot of extremely cheap (and unhealthy) food.
So where do I find these coupons? I get a Sunday paper that includes a coupon insert most weeks. I also find a lot of coupons on the internet. (Check your store’s coupon policy. They may not accept internet coupons.) There are a lot of sites that offer coupons. I will list them below.
The first place to go is coupons.com. They have over 100 coupons and deals that you can print out on groceries and household items. There are even coupons for discounts on books, magazines, and movies. I like to look for coupons that are 55-99 cents, since my stores double coupons, they are even better than $1 off.
One of the best places to get high dollar coupons is facebook. Be sure to like the products you buy on facebook as they frequently put out coupons that can get you a sweet deal at the store. Also, as they introduce new products, you could get samples sent to you in the mail. (Along with more coupons!)
Don’t forget to check out your grocery store sites too. Price Chopper, one of my local stores, puts out coupons weekly on both their site and their Facebook page. Since you can combine store coupons with manufacturer coupons, these make for either free or almost free purchases. The circulars they send out often have store coupons, and even dollar doublers, which can be used with a $1 coupon to earn you $2 off a product.
Lastly, go to the product’s website itself. Often times they have printable coupons on their site. Look under tabs like “offers” or “promotions” to find great coupons. I hit some sites monthly and can regularly save 50% or more on items like creamer and yogurt.
If you are concerned about putting your email or facebook information out there, you can always make dummy accounts specifically for these promotions. That way all of your friends don’t know that you “liked” Tampax or Preparation H. (I don’t care, I obviously have no secrets LOL)
I hope this helps. Please let me know how you do! You can contact me here, my facebook page, or send me email at Laura@outoftimemom.com . I would love to hear your coupon money-saving story!
